For more than five decades, Gareth Jenkins has dedicated his life to helping the bereaved during their greatest time of need.
The funeral business was initially established in the Afan Valley in the 1940's by Gareth’s late grandfather Evan and his late father Del.  Originally trading as Jones & Jenkins, they were builders as well as funeral directors in Cymmer and the surrounding area.
Gareth had grown up around funerals and joined the family business at just 16 years of age. He recalls at that early age conducting his first funeral when neither his father nor grandfather were available. From that stage he grew in knowledge and experience and has been involved in all aspects of the business for the last 50 years.
As the years progressed and the business grew, Gareth and his wife Christine, decided in the late 1990's to expand the business to its current purpose-built funeral home in Baglan.
Throughout his long career, his experience and connections has proved invaluable to those he supports. In accordance with family tradition, Gareth continues to expect and maintain the highest quality standards from the team for the benefit of the families supported by Baglan Funeral Home.
